Screen Repair & Window Coverings in Oildale, CA

The work this company was built on

This company started as a screen repair business more than eighteen years ago, before it ever sold a blind. Oildale is where that still shows most. It is close to the shop, the housing stock is older, and the calls that come out of it are usually about fixing something rather than replacing it.

That is the order we work in here. If a screen is torn, we rescreen the frame rather than sell you a new one. If a blind has a broken slat or a failed tilt, that is usually a repair. Replacement is the answer when it genuinely is the answer, and we will say so plainly either way.

Being north of the river also means the dust is not theoretical. Open ground, farm traffic and summer wind put a film on everything — slats, vanes, screens and sills. A lot of what gets called worn out in Oildale is simply dirty.

We take the measurements and hang them ourselves. The fit is our problem, not yours.

What matters on windows in Oildale

Repair before replace

If it can be fixed for less than it can be replaced, that is what we tell you on the phone.

Same-day screens

Bug screens and patio doors rescreened in place, usually the same day you call.

Cut-to-size replacement

Ag dust taken off what you already own, without hauling anything away.

Eighteen years of it

Screen repair is the original trade here, not a sideline bolted onto a showroom.

Why we lead with repair on this side of the river

A fair number of Oildale calls start with somebody apologising for the state of their blinds. Often the covering itself is sound and only one part has given up — a slat, a cord, a tilt wand. Fixing that costs a fraction of a replacement, and it is worth asking before you replace a whole set.

Screens are the other half. Kern County is hard on mesh — summer wind, grit off the open ground, and patio doors that get slid a dozen times a day from April to October. Torn mesh is a rescreen, not a new door. A patio screen that keeps jumping the track is usually rollers, not the screen at all.

Replacement earns its place when the headrail is broken, when the vanes have gone brittle and yellow from years of direct sun, or when the window has been changed and nothing fits it any more. At that point we measure, build to the opening and install it — but we get there honestly, not by writing off a set of blinds that had another decade in them.

What usually turns out to be the problem

  • ·Dust and film, not worn-out slats
  • ·Torn mesh in a perfectly good frame
  • ·Patio screen rollers and track, not the screen
  • ·One broken slat in an otherwise sound blind
  • ·Sun-brittle vanes that genuinely are finished

Oildale questions, answered straight

Can you repair my blinds instead of replacing them?

Often, and it is the first thing we look at. A broken slat, a tired cord or a failed tilt mechanism is usually a repair rather than a replacement, and we would rather fix it than sell you a set you do not need.

Do you really do same-day screen repair in Oildale?

Nearly always. Oildale is close in, and screen repair is the fastest thing we do. Call before mid-afternoon and it is usually sorted the same day — we are open 7 AM to 8 PM, seven days.

My blinds are fifteen years old. Worth fixing?

Depends on what has failed. A broken slat or a tired cord is worth fixing. Vanes that have gone yellow and brittle in the sun are not, and we will tell you that rather than patch something that will fail again in a month.

Why is there so much dust on everything out here?

Open ground, farm traffic and the wind that comes with both. It is why we steer people toward faux wood out here: it wipes down instead of staining, and it will not warp when the afternoon sun gets on it.

Get it looked at before you replace it
