Adds home value
Plantation Shutters in Fresno, CA
Measured, built and installed by our own crew · quoted in person, not online
Shutters are the only window covering that appraisers and buyers treat as part of the house. They’re fitted joinery, not an accessory. Wide-louver plantation shutters suit Central Valley homes particularly well: they seal against summer heat better than any blind, they don’t rattle in the delta breeze, and they wipe clean of ag dust.
Because every frame is built to the window, including arches and angles, shutters are measured by us, not by you. We come out anywhere in Fresno and Clovis, measure the openings and quote the job in writing, with wood and faux wood options, painted or stained to match your trim.
We take the measurements and hang them ourselves. The fit is our problem, not yours.

Why Fresno homes pick plantation shutters
Fitted to the house
Built as framed joinery to your exact openings, arches and angles included.
The heat seal
Closed louvers and a fitted frame outperform any blind against west-sun heat gain.
Wood or faux wood
Stained hardwood for living spaces; poly shutters for baths and laundries.
Resale value
The one covering that shows up in the listing photos and the appraisal.
What plantation shutters cost in Fresno
Shutters are the one product we quote rather than list, because the price turns on the opening: its size, its shape, whether it is square, and how it is divided. A standard bedroom window and an arched great-room window are different jobs.
We measure them ourselves, every time. That is not an upsell. Shutters are fitted joinery, and an out-of-square opening in an older Fresno home is not something we would ask a customer to own the numbers on.
What moves the price
- ·Opening size, and whether it is square, arched or a bay
- ·Wood or poly: poly for wet rooms, wood for span and finish
- ·Louver size: 2½", 3½" or 4½"
- ·Divider rails, and how the panels are hung and split
The specification decisions that matter
Wood or poly
Poly is the answer in a bathroom, over a kitchen sink or anywhere with steam, because it will not swell and the finish stays put. Wood spans wider without a divider rail and holds paint better on a large panel, which is why it wins in living rooms.
Louver size
Three-and-a-half inch is the common choice and suits most Fresno windows. Four-and-a-half gives a cleaner view out and suits big openings. Two-and-a-half suits small or period windows, where a large louver looks out of scale.
Arches and odd shapes
Arched transoms are standard in the newer Clovis and north Fresno tracts, and we build them. Fixed or operable, matched to the panels below. Send a photo if you are not sure what you have.
Plantation Shutters questions, answered straight
How much do plantation shutters cost in Fresno?
Shutters are quoted per opening after we measure in your home, because frames, louver sizes and shapes change the build. Building them ourselves means the quote routinely beats big-box and dealer pricing. Call and we will give you a realistic range over the phone first.
Wood or poly shutters?
Stained or painted wood in living rooms and bedrooms; poly (faux wood) in bathrooms, laundries and pool-facing rooms where moisture lives.
Do you handle arched windows?
Yes. Arches, angles and rakes are built to templates we take at the measure appointment.
How long do shutters take?
Longer than blinds, because they are built to your opening rather than cut to length. We give you the date at quote, and we would rather quote it honestly than have you waiting on a number we made up.
Do shutters add value to a house?
They are one of the few window coverings buyers treat as part of the house rather than as something the seller takes with them. That is the practical argument; we would not put a percentage on it.
Can you shutter a window that is not square?
Yes, and in older Fresno homes it is routine. Eighty-year-old openings have almost always moved. It is exactly why we measure these ourselves rather than sending you a tape.
