The premium finish

Real Wood Blinds in Fresno, CA

Measured, built and installed by our own crew · quoted in person, not online

When the room is about the finish, nothing substitutes for real wood. Our blinds are cut from North American basswood, light enough to run wider Fresno windows without sagging, and stained rather than printed, so the grain you see is the tree’s, not a photo of one.

One honest limit: real wood belongs in living rooms, bedrooms and offices. In bathrooms and kitchens the humidity works against it. Our warranty excludes real wood in those rooms for that reason, and we’ll steer you to faux wood there instead. That’s the advice you get from people who also do the repairs.

Why Fresno homes pick wood blinds

North American basswood

Straight grain and light weight, with 2" and 2½" slats that stay true on wide windows.

Stained, not printed

Real stain finishes that read as furniture, not plastic, up close.

Lighter lift

Basswood weighs about half of faux wood, so it is easier to use daily on large windows.

Swatches first

Screens lie about stain color. We send real slat samples at no charge.

What real wood blinds cost in Fresno

Real wood costs more than faux wood, and what you are paying for is North American basswood, lighter than composite so it works on wider spans without sagging, and it takes a stain in a way composite never quite does. We price it per opening once we have measured, not off a list.

The reason to spend it is a room where the window is part of the finish: a front living room, a study, a main bedroom with woodwork worth matching. In a hallway or a laundry, faux wood does the same job for less.

What moves the price

  • ·Width and span, since basswood covers wider openings without a centre support
  • ·Stain and paint choice; matched finishes take longer to build
  • ·2" and 2½" slats, with the wider slat costing more
  • ·Motorised lift, priced per window

Where real wood belongs, and where it doesn't

Living rooms and studies

This is what basswood is for. It reads as furniture rather than as window covering, and against original woodwork in an older Fresno home it is the only thing that looks deliberate.

Bedrooms with matched trim

If the trim is stained rather than painted, a matched blind finishes the room. Ask for samples before you commit. Screens are unreliable about wood tone, so we bring the chips out with us and hold them against your trim.

Not kitchens, not bathrooms

Steam warps real wood, and it is excluded from warranty in bathrooms for exactly that reason. This is not us being careful with the paperwork; it is the single most common way people are disappointed by a wood blind.

Wood Blinds questions, answered straight

Can I put real wood blinds in my bathroom?

We recommend against it and our warranty excludes real wood in high-humidity rooms. Faux wood gives you the same look there and is fully covered.

Are wood blinds worth the price over faux wood?

In living spaces, yes. They are noticeably lighter to operate on big windows and the stained finish is visibly richer. In work rooms and wet rooms, save the money and go faux.

Do you match existing stain colors?

Send a photo with your estimate request and the design team will match against our stain range before anything is cut.

Will the stain match my trim?

Often closely, rarely perfectly, because wood is a natural material and existing trim has usually aged. Ask us for samples and hold them against the trim in daylight before we build the house.

Do wide windows need a centre bracket?

Basswood spans further than faux wood before it needs support, which is one of the practical reasons to choose it on a wide window. Past a certain width we will tell you a support is needed rather than let it bow.

How long do they take to build?

Standard stains are usually 6–9 business days from confirmed measurements. Matched or custom finishes take longer, and we will give you the date before you commit.
